This exhibition takes its inspiration from Svetlana Alexievich’s literary work of the same title, Second-hand Time. In her world, “second-hand time” is not merely a symbol of old objects or leftover things, but also of those small fragments of life that quietly slip away. In our own time, every moment is “first-hand time”—a reality we experience firsthand. Yet in the eyes of others, these moments become “second-hand time”—images that have been recollected and recorded.
The exhibition invites you to search for fragments of your own memories within the fleeting moments captured by the artists. These are not dramatic events, but the simple, brief moments of everyday life: the lingering warmth on a table, a conversation after a workout, or a silent exchange of glances. They may seem trivial, yet they invisibly shape the deep connections and emotions we share with others. However, these subtle moments are not merely ordinary fragments on the surface—they also profoundly reflect our contemplation of contemporary life.
