China, b. 2000 · Lives and works in Shenzhen and Beijing

Artist Biography:

Zhou Beite (b. 2000, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China),Zhou Beite is a rising “post-00s Shenzhen-born” artist. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 2022 and his Master’s degree in 2025 from the Third Studio of the Oil Painting Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He currently lives and works between Beijing and Shenzhen.

His practice focuses on life experiences closely tied to bodily sensations, often responding to fragments of everyday perception from an observer’s perspective. Technically, he is deeply inspired by interdisciplinary digital image processing, employing layering, masking, and splattering to construct a visually charged language that negotiates a distinctive balance between “unrestrained” and “restrained.” Drawing on personal moments from urban-natural cultural contexts, he explores the manifestation and projection of the “self” within contemporary urban environments. His works are often seen as a true reflection of the spiritual predicaments faced by today’s urban youth—a visualised “Survival Guide for the Relaxed Urban Youth.”
