Gao Xintong 高新潼

Artist Biography：

Gao Xintong (b. 1998, Anshan, Liaoning, China).Gao Xintong received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara in Italy.Gao’s practice focuses on deconstructing and reconfiguring visual elements through vibrant colour, with works that can be understood as “portrait landscapes.” Drawing on ancient Daoist philosophy, the “blank space” within his compositions operates as a dynamic force, allowing each depicted element to emerge and come alive. He is adept at capturing the movement of “Qi” (energy) in nature through abstract, fluid lines, creating invisible yet tangible fields of energy. His practice pursues a flow of “naturalness”—intentional, yet achieved unintentionally—a duality that grants him both freedom and expanded possibilities in his creative process. He currently lives and works in Bologna, Italy.
