Russia, b. 1997 · Lives and works in Moscow & Barcelona

Artist Biography：

Yakov Khomich(b. 1997, Moscow)，Yakov Khomich is an emerging contemporary artist active between France and Russia. He graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), where he specialised in production design and set decoration.Born into a family of artists—his father and brother are both practising artists—Khomich grew up surrounded by art. Regular visits to museums, a formal education in fine arts, and immersion in a creatively rich household shaped his expansive and forward-looking artistic worldview. After gaining experience in film and visual arts, he entered one of Russia’s leading film institutes. Yet it was painting that ultimately claimed his full devotion. The year 2019 marked a pivotal turning point: he broke free from academic conventions and began an ongoing series of painterly experiments that continue to evolve. His paintings and graphic works draw on elements of Primitivism, Pop Art, and Naïve Art, often featuring animal and plant motifs. In 2025, he was shortlisted for the Forbes “30 Under 30” list in the Arts category.
