Artist Biography：

Ni Hao (b. 2000, Shanghai, China).Ni Hao is a highly regarded post-2000s artist. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the College of Fine Arts at Shanghai Normal University with a Bachelor’s degree, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at East China Normal University.Ni Hao’s artistic practice bears the distinctive imprint of Gen Z. Through bold, fluid brushwork and the flexible use of diluents, he breaks free from conventional easel painting conventions, allowing his works to oscillate between figuration and abstraction with remarkable tension. He is adept at combining visual collage and cultural symbols, employing bold outlines to depict figures and animals that subvert conventional perceptions, creating compositions full of theatricality and spatial dislocation.

In recent years, his practice has been deeply influenced by cinema. He incorporates his favourite film narratives into his paintings, reinterpreting and adapting them from a personal perspective, emphasising the dislocation between memory and reality.
